Located in what used to be a stone warehouse, the building's outer walls, ceiling, and beams look the same as when it was built in 1911. The restaurant offers dishes made with ingredients like Furano Wagyu (a type of high-quality beef) and locally-raised pork. 7. Furano Ramen Saigen (Izakaya, Chinese Cuisine, Ramen)

Loved by both locals and tourists, this restaurant is famous for their dishes made using fresh seafood caught from the Sea of Japan, Sea of Okhotsk, and the Pacific Ocean. Their signature dish is the [Rich Ebi Miso Ramen] (950 JPY). Conveniently around a minute's walk from Furano Station, this beloved restaurant offers various shabu-shabu and sukiyaki (hot pot stew) at reasonable prices. Their incredibly affordable [Lamb Shabu-Shabu] (1,000 JPY) - consisting of meat, vegetables, ramen, small onigiri (rice balls), and even pickles - is their signature dish. They also have other varieties, such as pork shabu-shabu that's also priced at 1,000 JPY and beef shabu-shabu for 1,600 JPY. Their prices haven't changed since the restaurant was established in 1980!

11. Fukuzushi (Sushi)

Around a 2-minute walk from Furano Station, Fukuzushi is known for serving jumbo sushi that's roughly 2.5 times bigger than regular sushi. All the toppings are delivered directly from fishing ports and can be eaten at reasonable prices. They also offer regular-sized sushi, so anyone watching their calories or who have children with them need not worry. 12. Masaya (Okonomiyaki, Monjayaki)

In 2017, Masaya was ranked as the top restaurant within Furano on a travel website. It is said that 80% of their guests are foreign, presumably because the owner can speak English fluently and they offer delicious Japanese food. Though you can savor teppanyaki (ingredients grilled on an iron griddle) dishes like okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) and monjayaki (okonomiyaki but with a diluted batter), it is recommended to try a local dish called [Curry Omelet] (Japanese omelet rice in curry sauce). Located along Karikachi Pass, this restaurant built from a home opened in July 2016. They serve homemade hamburg (Japanese-style Salisbury steak), cooked over charcoal, with plenty of grilled local vegetables. One particularly popular dish is the [CocoFura Burger], which uses the very same juicy hamburg. They have a garden where you can bring your pets, making it a great place for pet owners.

14. Bus Stop (Desserts)

This dessert shop is also located along Karikachi Pass. The [Mixed Ice], which is made by mixing cream made out of Furano milk and ice cream together in front of you, is their signature dish that is priced starting from 370 JPY. Another popular item is the [Furano Milk Frappe] (470 JPY), which is available only in the summer. It is a mixture of shaved ice made from frozen Furano milk and homemade strawberry jam. They also offer crepes and homemade manju (Japanese steamed cake). You can find the second branch roughly 3 minutes away on foot!
